The farm comprises 900 Macadamia trees, planted on 3 ha. The orchards were planted in 4 plantings from 2005 to 2012. 700 trees are presently bearing fruit with an expected harvest of 4 tons (NIS) this year. There is a potential yield of 12 tons (NIS) when the 900 trees are fully mature. There is 1 ha of land available to plant a further 300 trees.
The nuts are de-husked nearby and delivered for drying, crack-out and export to a leading supplier in Empangeni, about 100k distant.
There is a 525m2 packing shed with 20,000 litres of water storage facilities. It is a solidly built double volume red face brick building under pitched asbestos roof,
The farm is managed by the owners, assisted by a local consultant who has been retained for his professional expertise and staff training skills, and two full time, well trained local farm labourers; casuals are engaged for the harvest season.
The main house, Macadamia Lodge is +/-4002 with a wrap-around veranda and comprises an office; lounge; dining room; kitchen; pantry; laundry; full bathroom; separate toilet; TV lounge; 2 large bedrooms and a third bedroom en suite and shower. It is set up with landscaped swimming pool and gardens and there is a 3-car lock up garage and workshop.
