Connie Phillips
I just recently got my real estate license and I just started my career in real estate. I grew up in a family of well known builders. My grandfather, father, brother and cousins, many of them became home builders. I was married to a man for 17 years who worked in commercial and governmental finance and many of his projects included real estate.
I won’t profess to be the most experienced real estate agent but I have seen what makes a real estate transaction go through and so many times what causes a transaction to fail. The number one reason that I have discovered that real estate transactions fail is that the real estate agent over steps their bounds. They think they can give advice on credit, finances, lending and inspection. We as real estate agents are not allowed to give legal advice or any advice that reaches out of the scope of our licensure. We are the people who write offers for our clients, we present offers to our clients, we ensure that disclosures are made, that deadlines happen. We present property as desired and needed. We request and deliver financial qualification.
As your real estate agent, you will get the fiduciary duties that we are to uphold. Obedience, loyalty, disclosure, confidentiality, accounting, reasonable care and diligence. You don’t have to worry about me trying to be something I am not. I won’t offer speculation, just facts. There are so many conferences, seminars, luncheons which are supposed to teach real estate agents how to effectively generate and close business. I don’t feel it is necessary to attend those. I feel it is more important to give you what you are looking for. Whether it’s to sell your home, purchase a home, rent a home, you are getting someone that won’t pretend that they know anything about finances, I won’t pretend to know how to help you with anything that is out of my bounds. I will work hard for you and do everything I can to make you a happy customer who wants to work with me again.
