In 1988, My husband, Lou, and I bought a wooded waterfront lot near the Wisconsin Dells. We spent three years, weekends only, building a shell and finishing the interior ourselves: Creating walls, plumbing, electric, creating landscape from local materials, painting pictures to hang on the walls..
Our goal was create something special at an affordable cost, with recycled materials. We succeeded. I hunted for the treasures during the week. We transported and did the work over the weekend. Eventually we sold it as our schedule rarely allowed us to get away.
Then we started buying and rehabbing investment properties.
Now we are working on our Chain of Lakes Home and making it echo with a Mid Century Modern Vibe. And of course enjoying the waterfront.
In 1998, The Business Ledger named Mary Zentz as One of the Most Influential Women in Chicago through the synergy created by networking, volunteering, public speaking, and membership. Maybe it had something to do with her award winning Presidency of Palatine BPW, Harper Womens Dept Board Member, NSACI Membership, Including Distinctive Member Award, NNSP Membership and leader of morning referral group,, or my Public Speaking on Volunteering, Business Topics, and of course Real Estate.
