From the entrance on the sea side, which is the widest part of the city, surrounded by a dense pine forest, it meanders down to the canal, on both sides of which there are picturesque buildings in the Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque styles. Narrow, winding streets, a pine forest, stone buildings and a small island in the middle of the bay, which is bathed in sunlight and hidden in the depths of the bay, is a view reminiscent of old postcards.
Vrboska consists of two parts. Pjaca (eastern part) and Podva (western part).
The typical local Mediterranean architecture of small houses on both sides of the canal, connected with the houses of the old town built in Renaissance, Gothic and Baroque styles, as well as old churches on one side of the canal, and rich villas on the opposite side give the place a special charm and warmth. The rich fishing tradition in Vrboska can easily be found in the local gastronomic offer.
Healthy food from the surrounding fields and freshly caught fish with local olive oil and aromatic spices represent a unique gourmet experience. Add a glass of one of Hvar's famous wines and the experience is complete.
In the vicinity of the town there are several beautiful beaches such as Uvala Soline, Zavala, Milna, Paklena, Maslinica, each with its own beauty and characteristics. The islet of Zečevo, a well-known naturalistic destination, is only 1 km away from the town center.
