Hard work and determination is the name of the game for Tobias Smulders whose path into the real estate industry was a bit unconventional.

Following college, Tobias entered the construction field, but shortly after realized his passion was in sales and not in constructing. With an interest in automobiles, Tobias began a new chapter of his career selling car parts and managing online sales in a highly competitive and customer-driven market. It was in this stage of his career that Tobias developed strong negotiation and customer service skills, which led him to realize that he prefers an environment where he’s working with people and helping solve their needs. With that in mind, and a demand for Property Appraisers at the time, Tobias furthered his education and enhanced his skills by becoming a Canadian Personal Property Appraiser, and in 2012, solidified his career in real estate and graduated from the OREA Real Estate College.

Perseverance pays off, as Tobias is the recipient of a number of awards, most notably, recognized as the Top Five Sale Individuals for 2017, as well as the 2017 Remax Hall of Fame Career Award.

Passionate about his local community, family-focused, a crazy sock aficionado, and always on the hunt for the next fantastic rental property, Tobias and his partner, Shannon, can often be found walking their three dogs along the waterfront, checking out the latest hip restaurant, or simply entertaining guests in their home.
