Michael Kolbus is an investment sales broker for RE/MAX Commercial in Peoria, IL.

He began his real estate career in 2019 as an analyst with the NYM Group at Marcus & Millichap in Brooklyn NY, where he quickly transitioned into investment sales brokerage. During this time, he successfully oversaw the North Brooklyn market, closing over $23 million in multifamily transactions. In 2023, Michael joined the Capital Markets team at Cushman & Wakefield, further expanding his focus on multifamily properties while broadening his expertise to include industrial assets, development sites, and office building sales. During his tenure at C&W, he represented landlords and facilitated over $50 million in total sales.

Originally from Peoria, Illinois, Michael gained early exposure to real estate through his involvement in his family’s single-family rental portfolio. He holds a degree in psychology from DePauw University, where he served as Vice President of his fraternity and Captain of the Men’s Tennis team. After graduation, Michael moved to New York City to pursue a master’s degree in Forensic Psychology at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. He currently lives in Peoria, IL.
